In rural communities, where distance, weather, and work schedules can naturally limit everyday interaction, shared spaces and gatherings play an important role in reducing isolation and strengthening connections across all ages. We take part in events, partnerships, and shared traditions to support family engagement and strengthen relationships across generations.

Local Library Collaboration
We partner with the Twin Bridges Public Library to support early literacy and foster a love of books and storytelling.
Guest Visits & Educational Partners
Our program welcomes guest visits from organizations such as Montana PBS and Public Health, offering children age-appropriate learning experiences and connecting families with community resources.
Partnerships like these help broaden children’s and families’ horizons, providing opportunities for connection, learning, and shared experiences that can combat the isolation often associated with rural life.
Looking Ahead
Time spent with older generations offers children something increasingly rare, unhurried attention, lived experience, and the steady presence of someone who has seen many seasons. Through shared stories and reading together, children learn patience, listening, and respect, while gaining a sense that knowledge and care are passed down. Kid Country is exploring opportunities to revive a Senior Reading Program, inviting older community members to share stories, wisdom, and time with children. These moments become early memories of being welcomed into a circle where every age has value and something to offer.
