Director
Ms. April oversees daily operations and supports staff and families while remaining closely engaged in the classroom. She works with children through learning and play, provides comfort and care, and develops curricula that support their growth. Read More...
April lives in Twin Bridges with her husband, and together they are raising their six children in the Last Best Place. One of April's first jobs was working with children, and she fell in love instantly. Being able to share new learning experiences with children daily has been very rewarding for April. She has worked in various childcare settings for over 25 years, while also raising her own children. April believes children learn through play, along with a healthy amount of outside adventure and reading time.
"My joy comes from being with my family and exploring all that Montana has to offer. My children keep me busy with sports and school activities, yet I wouldn't have it any other way. Go Falcons! I try to hike and camp often. Baking is another hobby and is always a fun time around my house, as it never goes to waste! I am an active member of the public library board, as I love reading to my children and for myself. Check out our Little Free Library in Jensen Park! Twin Bridges is a great community, and I am so pleased to be a part of it in so many different ways."

Renee grew up and went to school in Montana. She has 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren. Renee’s first experience working with kids was in high school, when she volunteered to make kids’ crafts at the Sweet Pea Festival in Bozeman every year. As an adult, she spent several years leading wilderness trips with teenagers in Utah and Idaho. She and her husband own Granny’s Country Store in Silver Star.
Renee has been working at Kid Country for 9 years. She knew from the first day that this job was one she loved. Renee enjoys reading to children, storytelling, singing, cooking, and doing projects with kids. She holds both the Infant/Toddler and Preschool certifications for Montana.
“I love camping, reading, and sharing my skills with people of all ages. A niche interest of mine is Primitive Wilderness Skills. For the past 35 years, I’ve taught at the Rabbitstick Gathering in Rexburg, Idaho, and at other similar events. These are family gatherings where we share wilderness survival, ancient technologies, and homesteading skills. I taught wilderness skills and crafts to hundreds of children and adults over the years.”
